How to Bake Banana Bread



BANANA BREAD


INGREDIENTS:


  • 2 cups mashed banana (lakatan or latundan)
  • 2 1/2 cups flour, sifted
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs, unbeaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 teaspoon kalamansi juice
  • 1 1/4 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup sour milk (1/4 cup evaporated milk plus 1/4 cup water)


EASY STEPS:

1. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together.

2. Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Add eggs one at time beating well after each addition. Add vanilla.

4. Add milk and flour mixture alternately with mashed bananas.

5. Beat long enough to blend all ingredients.

6. Add nuts. Mix.

7. Pour in a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 F for from 45 to 1 hour.
