CUSTARD CAKE

CAKE:
2 1/4 CUP Cake flour
1 tbsp. Baking powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 cup Granulated sugar
1/2 cup Vegetable oil or corn oil
3/4 cup Water
5 pcs. Egg yolks
1 cup Egg whites
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 tsp Cream of tartar
LECHE FLAN:
15 pcs. Egg yolks
1 1/2 can Water
1 1/2 Condensed milk
1/2 cup Granulated sugar
1 tsp.. Vanilla
CARAMEL:
1/4 cup Sugar
50 grams Water
PROCEDURE FOR THE CAKE:
1. Sift the flor, baking powder, salt and sugar in a bowl. Make a well at the center and add the oil, egg yolks, and water and beat until smooth.
2. In another bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form, add the sugar gradually and continue to beat unttil stiff but not dry.
3. Fold the egg yolk mixture into the meringue until fully blended, bake at 325 degree for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until done.
PROCEDURE FOR LECHE FLAN:
1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat using a wooden spoon until fully blended. Set aside.
CARAMEL SYRUP:
1. Toss 1/2 cup sugar in a heavy saucepan and cook until sugar is melted. Add water and continue to cook until mixture forms a syrup. Brush into prepared 8x12x3 baking pan
