Black Forest Tart
Ingredients:
- 15-oz. pkg. (Any Brand) All Ready Pie Crusts
- 1 teaspoon flour
FILLING:
- 6 oz. (6 squares) semi-sweet chocolate, cut into pieces
- 2 tablespoon margarine or butter
- 1/4 cup powder sugar
- 8-oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 21-oz. can cherry fruit pie filling
- 1 cup whipping cream, whipped
- 1 oz. (1 square ) semi-sweet chocolate, grated
- heat oven to 450 F. Prepare pie crust according to package direction for unfilled one-crust pie using 9-inch pie pan or 10-inch tart pan with removable bottom. (Refrigerate remaining crust for late use.) Bake at 450 F. for 9 to 11 minutes or until lightly browned.
- In small saucepan, melt 6 oz. chocolate and margarine over low heat, stirring constantly; remove from heat. In a small bowl, beat powdered sugar and cream cheese. Stir in melted chocolate mixture; beat until smooth. Add 1 cup of cherry pie filling; blend gently. Set aside remaining pie filling. Spread mixture evenly into cooled crust. Refrigerate 1 hour.
- In a small bowl, combine topping ingredients. Spread evenly over cooled chocolate layer. Spoon remaining cherry pie filling in a band around outer edge of tart. Refrigerate until serving time. Garnish as desired.
