CHEWY CHOCOLATE TOOTSIES
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 oz. (1 square) unsweetened chocolate
- 1 tablespoon margarine or butter
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
PROCEDURE:
In a medium saucepan, melt chocolate and margarine over low heat, stirring constantly. Stir in corn syrup and vanilla; blend until smooth. Add 1 cup powdered sugar and graham cracker crumbs, blend well. Turn mixture out onto waxed paper; knead in remaining powdered sugar and walnuts. Divide mixture into 4 equal parts. Roll each part into 10 inch log. Cut each log into 10 equal pieces. Wrap each piece individually in waxed paper or plastic wrap. 40 candies
MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
In 4-cup microwave-safe measuring cup, microwave chocolate chocolate and margarine on high for 1 minute or until melted. Stir until smooth. Add corn syrup and vanilla. Microwave on high for 1 minute until smooth. Continue as directed above.
