How to Prepare Fruited Chocolate Trifle


FRUITED CHOCOLATE TRIFLE


INGREDIENTS:

  • 9-inch baked chocolate or yellow cake layer
  • 1 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 4-oz. pkg. chocolate instant pudding or pie filling mix
  • 2 cups whipping cream, whipped
  • 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • 2 medium ripe bananas,sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sliced almonds, strawberries if desired

PROCEDURE:

Cut cake into 1 inch cubes; set aside. In a small bowl, combine milk and pudding mix; beat at low speed 1 to 2 minutes. let stand 5 minutes to thicken. Fold 1 1/2 cups of the whipped cream into pudding. Spoon about 1/3 of the pudding mixture into bottom of 2 1/2 quart straight sided glass serving bowl. Add 1/3 of the fruits and 1/3 of the cake cubes. Repeat layers two more times, forming 3 layers of pudding,fruit and cake. pipe or dollop remaining whipped cream over top layer of cake cubes. Garnish with sliced almonds and strawberries. Store in a refrigerator.
